The baseball playoffs

Well OK. The Detroit Tigers lost again to go down 2-1 in their best of five series with the Oakland As. But they'll win the next one to send it back to Oakland for a deciding game. How do I know this? I'll get back to that.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates are knotted up at 2 apiece with an elimination game coming up soon. Makes sense.

After jumping out to a 2-0 series lead, the Red Sox got beat by Tampa Bay in Game 3. They're going to get beat in Game 4 as well, for the same reason as the above-mentioned Tigers/As series.

Actually, it's been obvious all along what's really going on. The longer these series' go, the more money there is to be made. I'm telling ya, it's a massive right (or left - take your pick) wing conspiracy. The fix is in and has been for a long time.

Every time another game is played, hundreds of millions of dollars change hands. We're talking pack-em-in like sardines sold-out stadiums. Figure in grossly inflated prices on everything from tickets, to hot dogs, programs, beer, parking, and everything else in between -- and next thing you know -- this adds up to some very serious cash.

No way are the baseball gods going to let opportunities like that slip by. Hey, most stadiums are named after banks, remember? You ever hear of a bank that wasn't trying to gouge the public in one way or the other?

Yeah, I know. The LA Dodgers eliminated the Atlanta Braves. But get real. Magic Johnson is a part-owner of the Dodgers. Whatever Magic wants -- Magic gets. Too bad he didn't buy the Detroit Lions. They might have had a shot at a Super Bowl. Nah, Earvin might have a magical way about him, but not even Houdini could pull THAT off.

So it all boils down to two things.

The first is -- of course these games are rigged. Only a fool would believe otherwise.

And the second is -- I was just kidding about all of the above.

Sorry Bud Selig. Just fooling around.

Hi JK.
